World History Reading List
Age of Discovery — 1650 - 1700

The Black Plague & the Great Fire of London,
John Bunyan & the Pilgrim's Progress, Scottish Protestants, the Huguenots

Master Cornhill is a fabulous piece of historical fiction. A true adventure story, it features both the plague and the Great Fire of London in 1666. For the older student, A Parcel of Patterns illustrates the complexity and tragedy of the plague like nothing else.

Our favorite pick for The Pilgrim's Progress is definitely Dangerous Journey because of its great illustrations. Lastly, two books are offered during this time period for their Reformation themes, Duncan's War on the Scottish Protestants, and Huguenot Garden.
