Author Reviews

Henty, G.A. Preston Speed Publications. JH+
Stories by G. A. Henty are unequalled in historical context, are full of action and adventure, and uphold honor and virtue as the standard for heroic living. Keep in mind, however, that they were written in the late 1800's, which is reflected in the vocabulary, as well as some sections that are burdensomely wordy. Several Henty books are available FREE online at Many Books and also Classic Book Library.

Rinaldi, Ann.   JH-HS
Her historical novels are well researched and entertaining, and several are included in this listing. Her Quilt Trilogy series does not include enough history to warrant it as a school reading choice (based on review of Broken Days).
