American History Reading List

1900 – 1920
Henry Ford, the California Earthquake of 1906,
the Titanic, Shackleton's Expedition,
America in World War I

Read about Henry Ford or the great California earthquake in the early 1900's. Two different series, All-of-a-Kind Family & Samantha give a taste of typical American life during this time period.

The 1910's brings us the high adventure stories of both the Titanic and Shackleton's expedition to the Antarctic. Ashes of Roses is a good choice for lesson plans on the labor movement.

The selections here for World War I are strictly American topics. For a wider range of book choices, please click the World Wars button on the blue menu to the left.
